Didn't work here... Spent two times and it didn't increase, normal decresing only... Something special need to be done?

Could someone help me? When I try to open the second menu, the game freezes some seconds later. I can make it work one or another time between a lot of tries, but it's very difficult and frustrating. I also tried to figure out a pattern where it doesn't crash, but without luck.
