For some reason, the mod didnt work for me. No matter how much atk and def I set, the characters still performed the same.

Then do not use mod in MP mode!! Not only you will get banned, but also causing this mod unavailable too! Read the front page again, OP stated clearly that you have to play "normally" in MP mode.
