The best way for me to avoid teapot is to stay clear of crossing stage 2500. The only way to unteapot I understand is to buy diamonds but I never did that nor do I intend to.

Apologies for the double post. Yeah some items, like the store causes the diamonds to decrease also when you drop a crate. The others are ok although the doom thing got greyed out when I used it a few times in a row but then it sorted out when I restarted. The teapot seems to happen around...

Those people are not real people, they are scripted by the game. So yeah you can kill them without feeling guilty :) Same goes for the players' homes on your map that you will see too. You can't add friends yet in the game, maybe when they come out of beta it may happen.
