How do I get it to stop freezing during battles its getting annoying losing gems or TM points and doing it all over again

Um wtf if 3 and 4 arent near safe I want 5 and constantly use 5 but mod 5 keeps f****** freezing during a fight and I cant attack. I just closed and opened it 10 times and I still go back to the same fight just for it to freeze and dont tell me to download mod 7 cuz that did the same thing
