As of 2022Sep23, the game got updated to v8.8 (had to have happened going into the start of the game's day, I was able to play just fine both yesterday afternoon and as far up as 2:30am EDT this morning)

An event in the game is coming to an end soon. (Supposed to end 2023Nov08, likely based on when the game starts the day) Depending on how they handle things for in-game events, there may be one OR two updates needed. And yeah, I'm at a point where the game literally forces you to update, despite being only ONE VERSION BEHIND.
