Can't find the mods I'm looking for. How do I make my own?

Can it be done script kiddie style or do I need extensive programming knowledge?

The game I want to modify is Almost a Hero. I tried Game Guardian, Lucky Patcher and Freedom. None work. What I want essentially is free IAPs as progress past a certain point is halved unless you pay like a 0.25$ per 10 minutes.

How do I get started on tackling this?

You don't generally need extensive programming knowledge although it is a bonus when starting out. Generally the majority of apks look the same or similar so it becomes more a case of searching for the same code strings in each game.
There is a mod for the game you want with currency mod Almost a Hero v1.8.2 Mod [Update 2017-11-30]

And yeah thats the thing, all mods that I find for the game are "all things cost 0" and it's just not fun. All I want is either free IAPs or no-cost prestige double reward. Since it feels like it slows down on purpose. I don't want to cheat, just grind less.
