For me the google login won't even work on rooted device, I am using emulator though. Get lucky patcher and follow this websites instructions to patch your device to disable apk signature verification or something. It will allow you to install unsigned apks and install apks over eachother without saying install failed. Once you do that grab the modded apk and original apk of this game and put it in one folder. Install the original apk first log into the game with google. Now install the modded apk over it and open the game again and you will be able to play the game. You do have to do this every time it trys to make you sign in.
Plz make this mod apply to all characters. Now only for the first character
