you need root and Disable Signature Verification -> you can install overwrite. if you no-root use any software can backup you data. Backup data game first -> uninstall origin app - > install mod app -> restore data

You know what data folder/files to back up? I tried using app backup amd it restore the original apk
 
Can't seem to get this to work without Root. Transferring the data with a file manager doesn't save progress for some reason and backing up the game with a backup app also doesn't save game progress. I've gone through the tutorial twice now just to make sure I went far enough.

I tried install at Jelly Bean, Root and is not working but in my wife phone with Kitkat, Unroot works perfectly. Both using Xiaomi Redmi. Thanks @sorayuu
 
Everytime i enter the game it loads habitats and buildings, and my game lag
How to download the game data directly ? So when i launch the game, all will be ready and loaded without lag (downloading)
 
The mod linked to in the first post appears to be outdated.
I was able to download the current APK from one of the links above (not otherwise available in my region), and got through the tutorial. When I went to install the mod from the first post, I got a message indicating I need to download the most current version from the Play Store.
I wasn't able to simply install the mod over the existing APK. I had to uninstall after using Titanium Backup, install the mod and then restore data. Not sure if that why it is not working, or if it is just the mod link being outdated.
 
*sadface* unable to play without the data, it just does nothing when it says downloading data and its not on the playstore in my country
