This question mostly @ the modding teams but anyone who can mod beyond "search getX" modification should have a good opinion.

Trying to decide which emulator to put on my computer, last computer i had tested like every emulator i could find and ended up with too many starting at launch, processes i had to lock/kill to keep my speed up, and folders EVERYWHERE and had to figure out which was which to be able to remove them or manually file manage. Now i got my new comp and want to try to keep its filesystem clean, at least a month or so anyways :D

Looking for the best emulator, specifically for testing games, cooked ROMs, and most compatible with a debugger thru ida, etc (most likely gdb but if there's an emulator /debugger combo that makes gdb less ideal im open to suggestion). My specs are Intel i7 4.0 Ghz 16gb ram 2gb video(not sure if that one really matters but w/e) and i "might" set up an unbuntu dual boot, currently just win 10. so with those specs and requirements that's what i want an emulator for.

opinions, preferences please let me know thanks!

Emulators depend on pref. Using memu but that's only for testing. Some prefer other emulators. Very free can be hooked to debug, test and you'll find your preference. I still use phone, portable and can be done anywhere you like ;)

No such thing as clean folders in Windows. It's a mess and you've signed up to it when you install it lmao

"clean-er" folders obv lol I'm aware of windows WONDERFUL filesystem (worse in Windows 10 imo and the wonderful folks at Dell had my SSD boot drive be C:\ so trying to work with more data folders going onto D:\ instead to reduce writes, sigh) so trying to reduce the inevitable. Memu is def on my shortlist, along with Nox (bluestacks was a mess, definitely avoiding that). Thanks for the input :)

Android SDK has builtin emulator, development kit standard should be enough used for debugging purpose. Or just bake a custom rom from android-x86 project, thats what i'm doing anyway.

thought about using Android Studio, didn't have much luck with it before with ida, however i know a lot more than i did when i tried before so maybe
thought about cooking the rom too, only issues i have there is windows (although i hear win 10 has bash capability so maybe ok), and i would want to do both x86 and ARMv7/8 if i do that, and only done modifications to roms before so that'll be new territory for me (i planned on learning that anyways, but not sure if i really want my first attempts to be a rom i use for production testing).
like the ideas though, have to think about that, thanks
