Read instructions, you need to equip a weapon to the character u want to boost damage.

The stats boost does work if you follow the simple instructions provided. However, if you boost some of your captured creatures and then fight some of the same ones, they will have boosted stats too. It's not really game breaking though. Just boost the main characters and you should be fine. Thanks for the great mod!
