Also is there anyway to save the data on this version? I'm using a non rooted phone and I'm unable to login via Google although I'm linked to Facebook it doesn't seem to save data :/

no idea , if facebook doesnt save nothing much can be done , maybe with Helium Backup you can backup save data too
