You do know its not just isolated to character search box entry right. its crashing on any text box entry ie, search for a friend text entry box, retrieving your account using issue password entry box, or changing your name text box. Also, list your phone, emu and android version you are on. Some people does not have this problem. I mentioned earlier that v1 of the mod works out of the box on an OPPO A9 2020 android 11, has no problems what so ever, same on an HTC One M9 android 7. But the problem is however apparent on Galaxy S10+ android 11 and Galaxy Note Ultra 20 android 11 using v2 of the mod. v1 crashes on startup.

@iAlex, was that log i sent you from my galaxy s10 any help at all? I recorded it from when the game startups and got to the title screen. Clicked on Configure to use the entry box from retrieving account using Device Transfer, Change Device with ID, Transfer Data entry box.

sadly log was not good but by following the steps by @iChris you should be able to login using bypass then install over v2 but ye, using the search box thing is a no go right now

will try check more too

Sorry have I not mentioned already that v2 also works out of the box on my s10+ installing it fresh. no need to install bypass first then mod. the game works fine, just problem with the text entry boxes crashes. Likewise on the Note 20 Ultra. Its hard to play, I never knew i actually clicked on these that much.

Also, with the log, did I need to do more? I just followed the instructions on that video guide you showed me.

Well the best of luck iAlex. hope you have more better luck soon figuring this out.

Update: Just replying to @bedda msg below. Yes It does indeed crash on the text entry on my s10+ as well, but I dont need to reinstall it to play it again. Just click on the game and it starts up fine. Some people have mentioned that it crashes constantly after that and they have to reinstall using bypass then mod again.

To be honest, I actually thought it was the android version causing the problem, mostly people running on version 11. but I mentioned earlier that v2 of the mod works completely fine installing it fresh on an OPPO A9 2020 running android 11 and doesnt have the text entry crash bug. But bedda below is running an OPPO phone as well with android 11 but X3 and has the text entry bug. Man this is so mind boggling.. Im not even a programmer, and Im glad =).

My experience on a Oppo find x3 pro (android 11)
-v1 mod KO
-v2 mod OK but I had to install bypass first and manually enable draw over apps because V2 crashed before giving the chance to enable
-text entry box BUG present, game crashes but is fine if I restart (no need to repear step 2/3)

Yeah, turns out it is every text box entry.
 
Well its unfortunate that it has turned out this way for the mod, but atleast its far from unplayable, we can still enjoy everything the mod offers and get our free gems ready for YAMATO =). also some are lucky with the v1 working completely perfect for them and some who has to run v2 with a minor and a little annoying text entry bug, but hey atleast we can still play it.

To all who are still downloading and installing and trying to get it to work or managed to get it to work on your devices, emu, please write down your "Device", "emulator" and Android version and maybe logs too (if you know how to do it, otherwise theres an easy tutorial here on androidrepublic on how to get your logs rooted/non rooted-sorry I dont know how to link to it, that you can watch).

Which version of the mod works for you - v1 or v2
and installation steps to get it working, ie, did you have to uninstall old mod first, then installed bypass then v1/v2 of mod, or ran old mod first then set mod settings to clear, then installed new mod over old one etc..

Lets try and help iAlex out. Coming here and just saying v1 didnt work, it just crashes etc without giving details isnt too helpful on isolating the problem.

I apologize to some or all if you think Im just rambling on, but honestly Im just trying to be helpful =), we all know iAlex maintains alot of mod projects.
 
I notice also that it freezes/wont run when I try to clone the app using various kinds of parallel space cloner. Maybe this info can help u a bit @iAlex

I tried some mod apps in the parallel spaces. And all of them works flawlessly. Only OPTC does freezes or wont run.

If you clone my mod my protection will kick in, that’s pretty much the case since by cloning you temper the original file.

A quick update. For some reason when I booted up Bluestacks today the v2 mod kept crashing (when it previously worked) to the point where I repeated steps 2 (install bypass) and 3 (install mod) and it was still crashing. I actually had to completely uninstall again and then install bypass and mod and its back up and running.

I am no Android expert, but my Bluestacks settings are all on default (Android setting is Nougat 32-bit). Device profile is set to OnePlus 3T (not sure if this matters).

I guess from here on out I'm going to close Bluestacks as little as possible.
 
ive tried step 2 and then step 3 but my game keeps crashing... reinstall doesnt work either...pls fix

HOW TO ENABLE PERMISSION ON ANDROID
  • Open device "Settings"
  • Go to APPS
  • Scroll down to desired APP and TAP IT
  • Go to "OTHER PERMISSIONS" or "ADVANCED PERMS" and tick "DRAW OVER" or "DISPLAY POP-UP WINDOW"
  • IF YOU DON'T DO THIS MOD WILL CRASH / NOT SHOW FLOATING ICON

every time ive installed a mod apk it shows me normaly that i have to check permission for pop ups... but this time it dosent showed me... but now the mod works =)

from the looks of it device blocks the redirect to settings ... idk why tho
