Private Server/Bypassing Checks

I wanted to know if it was possible to run your own private server not only for yourself but for other players too. I know theres games like Clash of Clans with thousands of people on a private server, but im looking at about 10-50 people. The game was shutdown a couple years ago with no reason at all lol. Has people still really wanting to play it, but we cant because they shut the servers down.

Reviving this thread in hopes of getting something going. I stepped away from this a while back (clearly). Started giving it a go but this time actually looking at it myself.

I took some time trying to reach out to old devs or people who worked on the game for some advice (to do it an easier way rather than what I’m trying to do now).

The one and only response I got was from an old dev that gave me an old test build. Yes there’s newer versions to mess with but having a test build could potentially be easier + cool to just have a working test build anyway.

The dev wasn’t able to get past an initial error that you would get when opening the app but after messing with stuff and taking a look at logs (log cat) while trying to get it up, I was able to bypass it completely. Then also bypass a server check the shortly happened afterward before passing publishers of the game

I’m currently stuck just where you select a server and the app just freezes after selecting and after about a minute says “disconnected from server” as it’s obviously not even connecting to anything. I’m seeing no information within logs at all from this point and unaware on how I should move forward.

I’ve tried looking around within .smali files but haven’t found anything worth patching/bypassing. If anyone could lend a hand or some advice that would be nice! The goal for now is to at least get the game running locally.
