Saving progress in online modded games

I have recently installed a modded APK for 'Legendary', which is an online game that requires google plus be used to save progress. Unfortunately, the mod prevents me from doing this, so I am wondering if there is a way for me to save my progress next time it needs to be updated?
 
Theres a way to bypass it if you have root (Im not clear on the details but It is possible)
