Oh it cos at first you turn on data i have that problem too at first...try it
Turn off your data then play the game wait until it say "you offline for 3 day please go online" then turn on your data and retry....if it not work try reinstall and follow that step(at first remember to turn off your data before play it)

I tried that and it tells me I have a corrupted game and tells me to install the proper one

Try delete your game and install again and please note to make sure turn off data at first before you play it

Did all that before and it still won't let me play it whatsoever

Hmm have you turn off your data before you play it?
Data corrupted cause your data still on when you want play it or you try download new map or some online features but it can be fix when you close the game and turn off data like my step

Both ways and still it won't let me play. I even tried to enable and disable data quickly but to no avail

Ah you dont need change it quickly you still can play when your data on but never try online features or your data will corrupted..you just need turn off at first before you play to need pass notification "mayor you have been 3 days offline bla bla" then turn on data then retry...if this ways still didnt work idkhow to solved it

I know I did that like 4 times and it won't let me do anything it keeps telling me to connect to the internet
