Damn, I'm a dude and all I have are finely moisturized elbow pics.
I found a work-around to get this installed on Android 14+, using "ApkTool M", no root or source required. Leaving instructions here for others to enjoy.
1) Open ApkTool M
2) Navigate to demonized apk
3) Open apk --> Remove Signature Verification
That's it. Now you can install this onto your unrooted device. I tested both as a standalone, and as an update on top of another demonized mod.
You can also use ApkTool M to change the package name as well, forcing it to install within a separate folder, allowing you to install multiple instances of the game on your unrooted device, no need for virtual environments.

If that happen clearly mod did not applied since u said its on and off, u just have to clear cache+forced close before open. Do it till it work or try on VM or even better on LD9

Let me rephrase and explain for more context.
When I said it was working on and off, I mean I would have to keep uninstalling and reinstalling for it to work. It was working fairly fine other than that until having to update it to 2.1.0
After said update, it gives the "please install app through app store" Regardless if I'm trying with my phone, a couple different Virtual machines, bluestacks, Nox, ldplayer. The only thing I found that semi works is gamekiller. When I say semi works, I can't get past making/signing into an account including guest; gives "name is already taken" no matter what I put in.

Exactly what i explained earlier, reinstall and forced close+ clear cache is same thing
Im using LD9 and i find it weird if it doesnt work. The name taken is issue with the game itself, you literally like need very random names
