I don't know why you can't play, I use a non modded apk on my cellphone (it's not rooted), and play the modded version on NOX, have them both synced, and it works just fine.

I have it installed on nox and like I said the computer constantly beats the hell out of me and I can't even take a turn to do anything

You have to use your finisher on the first turn, or else they will use it on their first turn.
