I also tried renaming OBB, uninstalling original APK, and installing patched APK, and now I am stuck in black screen.

I copy it from my other device running PS version.
And, patched apk was able to load and download updates smoothly.

Check your obb and apk version, make sure it's the same as @AndroidDemon said. If it doesn't work, you can try this updated version Release Azur Lane JP (June 30) · Rempacious/AzurLane-JP

I confirm OBB is the correct version - ie the version mensioned by @AndroidDemon. Also confirm that the patched APK is downloaded from the github link you provided

Guess I'm gonna need to do fresh install because mine was 5806 not 7112 for the obb. Thanks for the help.
Or perhaps, can someone direct me a link to DL 7112 OBB file? TIA

Never mind, just DL'd the latest OBB file and replaced the old one. Everything's working properly, thanks a lot.

For those having black screens, please make sure the obb is properly installed or is the right version. If it is, make sure to follow the installation instructions in first post.
